At the heart of transformative projects lies one key factor: an exceptional visitor experience.
BusaWoodward was born out of a passion to create spaces that truly care about how people engage and interact with each other, with ideas and design.
Our Approach
We bring decades of expertise in delivering complex projects across different sectors and organisations.
THE EXPERIENCE VALUE CHAIN
From concept to completion and beyond, we translate our client's vision into compelling narratives. We develop the full diversity of touchpoints for different audiences at different stages of their journeys, and bring those touchpoints to life through multiple media.
MULTIDISCIPLINARY EXPERTISE
Our expertise in cognitive science, neuroscience and human behaviour underpins our approach to design and planning: experiences are moments in time where audiences connect to spaces through their bodies, minds and emotions.
DEEP CULTURAL RESEARCH
We carefully research the depths of a client’s cultural environment to develop the rich possibilities afforded by each space through physical and intangible qualities.
FEASIBILITY & DELIVERY FOCUS
As we creatively craft how to bring to life different stories through different media and activations, we carefully consider how each project remains financially and operationally viable.
Our Services
In a world where audiences and visitors increasingly demand stimulation of all senses, we strive to balance the need for “wows” with spaces that are simply great in their ability to engage and, generate interest; space where people want to return time and time again.
Theme & Content Development
The theme and the cultural DNA of any project determines the story-telling potential: the deeper the theme, the richer the stories.
Robust research and analysis of thematic topics that must interact with the culture and values of the project. Theme development creates the foundations for a real depth of content that will be translated in a variety of applications for different audiences and different times of day and year.
Experiential Placemaking
Experiential placemaking translates the theme into rich storytelling through sensory and cognitive narratives that create interest and connections.
The programs, designs, activations and assets that bring themes and cultural stories to life to support people’s sense of belonging and interest. Applications must span from challenging and fun to serious and entertaining; from engaging and light-hearted to captivating or lightly present.
Experience Masterplanning
The integration of all the content and design tools for decision-making and coordination with construction delivery processes.
Much like an urban masterplan guides future developments by defining the organisation of spaces and construction criteria, the experience masterplan defines the vision, the principles and the nature of the experience(s): from stories to sounds, from shapes, colours and textures to permanent and temporary activities.
Experience Auditing
Audience behaviour is provides an ever changing source of learning and improvement and it never too late to make experiences better.
Since audience behavior is never static and people will often interact with spaces in ways were unaccounted for in the original designs. Experience design and planning, therefore, must evolve and adapt by learning from audience behavior before and after the completion of projects.
